The Radio Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) has expressed deep appreciation to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, for inviting the Union to participate in FGNCONNECT, a federal initiative designed to enhance communication between government and citizens.

In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of RATTAWU, Comrade Izang Francis Atsen, the Union described FGNCONNECT as a commendable platform for informing Nigerians about the direction and policies of the Federal Government. He conveyed the appreciation on behalf of the National President, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, and the entire RATTAWU membership.

The Union reiterated its commitment to supporting the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation in actualising its five-point agenda: restoring public trust, amplifying government policies, reorienting national values, modernising through technology, and creating a conducive media environment.

Comrade Kalu noted that the recent tour of infrastructure projects in Ebonyi State, in which RATTAWU participated, exemplifies how government achievements can be showcased to foster public awareness and support.

He emphasised that the partnership between the Union and the Ministry highlights the crucial role of stakeholders in promoting citizen engagement and establishing effective feedback channels to assess government programmes under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

RATTAWU pledged to continue mobilising its members and creating platforms that would project government programmes across borders, enhancing public enlightenment and participation.

The Union concluded by reaffirming its readiness to work closely with the Ministry in advancing national orientation and strengthening the media’s role in democratic development.
