The Ekiti State Government has commenced the issuance of appointment letters to 1,522 newly recruited junior healthcare workers in a move aimed at addressing manpower shortages and improving service delivery across primary healthcare centres in the state.

The Chairman of the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Funke Ogunbunmi, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, describing the recruitment as a major step towards strengthening healthcare services at the grassroots.
Ogunbunmi said the new personnel would improve the operational capacity of frontline health facilities and enhance access to essential medical services in communities across the state.

She commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving the recruitment, noting that adequate staffing was critical to building a functional and accessible primary healthcare system.

According to her, the recruitment reflects the administration’s commitment to improving residents’ health and ensuring that primary healthcare facilities are better equipped to respond to the needs of the people.
