BAYERN MUNICH COACH VINCENT KOMPANY RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER REPORTEDLY COLLAPSING

Uncategorized

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Munich on Friday after collapsing at the club’s training ground, according to German media outlets Bild and Sky.

Reports indicated that an emergency doctor attended to the Belgian manager, while a helicopter was said to have landed at Bayern’s training facility on Säbener Straße. The German champions had yet to issue an official statement confirming the incident at the time of the reports.

The 40-year-old had reportedly been battling a viral infection in recent days, forcing him to miss Bayern’s final training session and pre-match press conference ahead of their UEFA Champions League encounter against Arsenal, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

However, Kompany returned to the touchline for the match at the Allianz Arena despite his illness.
Reflecting on his condition, Kompany admitted that he had pushed himself too hard while battling the virus, ignoring his body’s warning signs in his determination to fulfil his coaching responsibilities.

“I caught a pretty nasty virus last week, and of course I didn’t listen to my body. Then, at some point, my body said: ‘Now stop!’” he said. Further details about his reported hospitalisation and current condition were awaited.
