The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its National Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, naming its National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, as chairman, with presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, occupying key leadership positions.

Under the arrangement announced on Sunday, Obi will serve as co-chairman, while Kwankwaso has been named co-vice chairman. The party’s National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, will serve as vice chairman, while National Secretary Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu will serve as council secretary. Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim has been appointed Director-General of the presidential campaign.

The council also features former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, who will chair the National Campaign Advisory Council. Other members include Senator Ovie Omo Agege, Senator Victor Umeh, Buba Galadima and Professor Pat Utomi.
The party’s campaign structure includes a 40 member National Campaign Advisory Council and campaign coordinators for the states and the Federal Capital Territory. The NDC said the council would coordinate nationwide campaign activities, mobilise supporters and promote its vision of a “new, just and prosperous Nigeria.”

The party also urged its members and supporters to remain united as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum, describing its proposed campaign as people-centred and focused on issues affecting Nigerians.
