Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has moved to retain key members of his cabinet as he seeks the State House of Assembly’s approval to reappoint three commissioners and ten special advisers.
The governor, who recently commenced his second term in office, submitted the nominations in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye.

The nominees include Dayo Apata as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Akintunde Oyebode as Commissioner for Finance, and Dr. Oyebanji Filani as Commissioner for Health and Human Services.
The request comes as the governor continues to put together his team for the new administration, with particular attention to key sectors expected to drive governance and service delivery across the state.

Last week, Oyebanji also approved appointments in the power, road infrastructure and transportation sectors as part of efforts to strengthen the machinery of government.
The State House of Assembly is expected to consider the nominations in line with its constitutional responsibilities.

If approved, the appointments would allow the nominees to continue overseeing their respective portfolios while supporting the administration’s plans for Ekiti State.
