An Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigator has told an Abuja High Court that companies under investigation in the alleged ₦110.4 billion fraud case involving former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello received regular inflows from local government accounts in the state.

Testifying on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, before Justice Maryanne Anineh, prosecution witness John Justice said the EFCC’s analysis revealed that most funds credited to Forza Business Enterprise came from Kogi State local government accounts on a monthly basis.

Bello is standing trial alongside Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu on a 16-count charge bordering on alleged criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving ₦110.4 billion. The charges remain allegations before the court.

The witness also told the court that investigators examined bank records and CCTV footage from Access Bank and Zenith Bank after identifying large cash withdrawals in the transactions.

According to him, the footage showed that the amounts recorded as cash withdrawals were not physically taken out of the banks. He explained that some transactions involved customers filling withdrawal cheques and depositing the funds into other accounts.

Justice said the investigation began after the EFCC received intelligence concerning the activities of local governments in Kogi State. Investigators subsequently obtained bank records, conducted Bank Verification Number searches and analysed transactions involving companies, including Hayzma Business Enterprise, Keyless Nature and Forza Business Enterprise.
The case is continuing before the FCT High Court in Maitama, Abuja.
